KEPLER REVIEW:
Paul Simon - Surprise
2006 was an excellent year for veteran songwriters. Bruce Springsteen, Ray Davies, Lindsey Buckingham and Bert Jansch all put out excellent records. Surprise is Paul Simon as his metaphysical finest. Much credit has gone to Brian Eno for his production help, but this is simply a better batch of songs than 2000's You're the One. Nobody writes lyrics as deeply imbedded with wisdom as this man.
